Hemm żewġ sinjali ftit differenti għal GENDUS XAGĦRU TWIL. L-ewwel sinjal isir biż-żewġ idejn li jieħdu l-forma ta’ 5 bis-swaba’ mifrudin u bil-pala tħares ’il barra fuq il-livell tar-ras. L-idejn iduru biex il-pala tħares ’il-ġewwa ftit il-bogħod mill-ġbin. Jingħalqu f’ponn ftit il-bogħod minn xulxin.

It-tieni sinjal juża ż-żewġ idejn forma ta’ 5 kemm kemm ikkurvat u bil-pala ’l barra. L-idejn jitqiegħdu quddiem il-ġbin bis-swaba’ l-kbar kważi jmissu. Imbagħad, l-idejn jinżlu ’l isfel fl-linja kkurvata lejn il-ġenb, jingħalqu f’ponn bil-pala ’l barra livell mal-widnejn u joħorġu ftit lejn il-ġenb.

GħaIl-plural is-sinjal għal ĦAFNA jiġi wara s-sinjal għal GENDUS. Ġieli ukoll tintuża classifier. F’dan il-każ id waħda jew iż-żewġ idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ V mgħawġa jew il-forma ta’ 5 mgħawweġ. L-idejn jitpoġġew f’ħafna punti fiż-żona tas-sinjali qisu hemmhekk qed jitqiegħdu ħafna gniedes.

Meta n-nom GENDUS ikun is-suġġett ta’ verb ta’ moviment, id waħda jew iż-żewġ idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ V mgħawġa jew il-forma ta’ 5 mgħawweġ. Jintużaw bħala l-classifier u l-idejn jimxu skond l-azzjoni.

There are two slightly different signs for YAK. The first sign is made with both hands in the shape of 5 with fingers apart and palm facing outwards at head level. The hands move round so that the palm faces inwards some distance from the forehead. They close into fist shape a little distance away from each other.

The second sign is make with both hands in the very slightly curved 5 shape, palms facing out. The thumbs almost touch over the front of the forehead. The hands move down in a curved line to the side, then they change into fist shape with palms still facing out but at ear level. The hands move inwards and then out to the sides.

To refer to a small or large yak, the signs for SMALL and BIG are made with both hands in the shape of C, palms facing horizontally or diagonally. The distance between the two hands indicates the relative size of the yak. The signs for SMALL or BIG are made after the sign for YAK.

The sign for MANY is used after the sign for YAK to express the plural. A classifier is often used. In this case, one or both hands take the form of curved V or curved 5. The hands are placed in several places in the signing space as though several yaks were being placed there.

When the noun YAK is the subject of a verb of movement, one or both hands take the curved V or curved 5 shape. They are used as the classifier, moving according to the action.
